Husqvarna Production Shifts To KTM's Partner Bajaj


With the forthcoming Svartpilen and Vitpile 401 Husqvarna bikes, the oldest motorcycle company in the world will work with Bajaj in a move that makes use of their current partnership with KTM. Bajaj has a 48% stake in KTM which owns Husqvarna.

By bringing Husqvarna into the partnership, Bajaj hopes to produce 100,000 KTM/Husqvarna models this year, with the aiim of doubling that number over the following years.

An initial run of the Svartpilen and Vitpeln bikes will be made at the firms’ HQ at Mattighofen, Austria, before moving to Bajaj’s Chakan factory in India. 

KTM expanded and cut production costs by outsourcing to India, improving their sales both globally and in Bajaj's domestic market.
